Did you know that 2.7 million cats and dogs are put down. Because bad people are doing this to animals. The way to stop this from happening once and for all is by donating to the ASPCA. So, that they don 't die and they deserve a home for those animals. That stands for American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. We should start to donate the ASPCA because it is the best animal charity. The ASPCA was created on April 10 1866 in New York City by Henry Bergh. He was inspired by the RSPCA( the Royal Society of Prevention for the Cruelty to Animals. Henry Bergh was a philanthropist which is the same thing as a sponsor. Nine days after he made the ASPCA the legislature to pass the law for prevention of cruelty to animals. That is the history of ASPCA now I want to to tell you all about how it is the best. For one thing it is a non profit corporation, which means they don’t keep the money, they give it to animal shelters that need it. Another thing is that they spend 4.9 million dollars are spent for animal shelters and only 4% of that money is from a 129 million dollar budget. Choose the ASPCA and you could get a shirt with the ASPCA logo and a picture of an …show more content…
This quote is ASPCA’s mission for animals. The ASPCA is best animal charity and most deserving in the United States because these animals are in need of being rescued. It is important because if we don’t, then we could lose some animal population and animals that have the ability to have a pet. Animals can be our best friend, they won’t be mean and roll their eyes, they will respect and love us if you treat them appropriately. They can be trained to help you, like a police dog and military dog can protect us and a special dog for people with disabilities. If we donate to the ASPCA, then you can adopt our own pet from the animal shelters. This is why we should donate to the
Bergh’s emotional accounts of the horrors inflicted on animals persuaded the New York State legislature to pass the contract incorporating the ASPCA on April 10, 1866. Nine days later, the first operative anti-cruelty law in the United States was approved, authorizing the ASPCA to examine grievances of animal cruelty and to make arrests. Bergh became accustomed sight on the streets and in the courtrooms of New York. He repeatedly examined slaughter houses, participated with police to shut down dog- and rat-fighting pits and lectured in schools and to adult societies. In 1867, the ASPCA recognized and functioned the nation’s first ambulance for horses.
They give loads of information on their site and in events, they have made contests to create videos around schools to promote several ways to help animals like sterilizing your pets to assure the pet population won’t go up, microchipping your pet so you can find them if lost, not supporting puppy mills and animal cruelty, and much more friendly advice. They also have classes you can apply for to learn more about how to help animals. A group of my peers and some younger kids got the pleasure of asking questions to two animal officers, one of which with extensive experience and one new, and a veterinary technician. The Hawaiian Humane Society offers bountiful opportunities to learn about animals and how to help
The American Society for the Prevention of cruelty to Animals “We are their voice” this is the motto of The American society for the prevention of cruelty to animals (ASPCA) because they believe in standing up and fighting for the ones who can not stand up and fight for themselves. ASPCA was North America 's first established humane society and today is one of the world’s biggest. This interest group tries to influence the political process by asking for donations accompanied by a picture of a physically abused animal, on almost every page on their website to help raise money to help their cause and work against bills such as Ag-Gag legislation. Over the past couple years there has been the introduction of the Ag-Gag legislation. The farming
Then the population of dogs and cats would stop growing so much. There are two positives about the humane society, One is the volunteering, they have people volunteer so the animals can get more used to being around people. Also getting outside and playing instead of being cooped up in a cage. You can be anywhere from 12 to so on, so the animals can have a variety of ages to see. When volunteering there are lots of things you can do with the animals, mostly dogs.
Today ASPCA is one of the largest humane societies in the world. It was founded on the belief that animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans and must be protected under the law. In 1993 the ASPCA took 60,000 animals into its two shelters and killed nearly 35,000 of them. In 2013, the ASPCA gave $4.9 million to support animal shelters, a mere 4% of its $129 million budget. Despite having received $115 million in contributions in 2013, ASPCA only found homes for 3,400 dogs and cats, according to its annual
Jane Goodall once said, “Every individual matters. Every individual has a role to play. Every individual makes a difference”. This illustrates how everyone and everything makes a difference or plays a role in the community. Humans and animals interact with each other either in a positive or a negative way.
Although Jeremy Rifkin, Bob stevens, and Lois Frazier have all written about their view on animals and how they are treated globally, but when bringing in animal rights groups like ASPCA and PETA, different bias and tactics are newly introduced. Of all the articles, Jeremy Rifkin uses the most credible sources such as lab studies and examples. In the article “A Change of Heart about Animals” Rifkin uses sources such as Purdue University and the European union when talking about situations. One situation he writes about is how pigs need social activity so the pigs are not “lacking mental and physical stimuli [which] hand result in deterioration of health”.
The human services history has a rich history with number of key milestones, which played key role in promotion of human life (Waugh, 2005). However, one important historical event in the history of human services profession is the Charity Organization Societies (COS), which was the first organized effort in order to help the poor in the United States. The Charity Organization Societies was borne out of the ideas from the London Charity Organization Societies from the 1870s. The Charity Organization Societies were founded at a time when the US citizens were struggling with destitution caused by the long depression of the 1870s (Hansan, 2013). The long depression and industrial strife of this time caused great economic and social problems,
Luckily ASPCA has many field rescues, medical operations, and behavioral treatment. All these methods may need to be used depending on the dogs/cats situation, but no matter how bad the situation is, ASPCA has a way to fix it and will do what is right. ASPCA has been very successful with giving animals a good home and an amazing life, but they would not have been able to do any of that if it weren't for the money and time from volunteers (ASPCA). All pets should have a great loving home and a kind hearted owner(s) who will treat them with love and care. This organization is extremely important because without ASPCA, first off there would be millions of dogs/cats that would’ve never had
Every ten seconds an animal is abused or neglected by its owner. This shows a massive problem in our society. Supporting the ASPCA is a worthy endeavor due to its valiant goal. They are a main contender in fighting animal abuse and neglect and they give homes to animals in need. We need to change and they can help in getting us to that point.

The canines are considered as part of the family members more than as a domestic animal nowadays in most families. The bond between the animals and humans are inseparable. However, according to American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), there are approximately 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized in every year (ASPCA, 2017). This implies that animal euthanasia is a controversial issue nowadays. There are several reasons the animals are euthanized and it depends on each case.
Peta have a logo which is (Giving a strong voice to those which can’t speak for themselves. They are the ones that created the all the ethical rules in which it favors animals even sometimes over human beings which is a bit over the counter. Animals shouldn`t be tortured or abused and everyone agrees on that. Crimes have many ways and one of them is to neglect animal necessities providing, shelter from bad weather, food, water.
This group does this because they strongly believe in to save animals from torture that they would not be in and they just plainly love their job. Tons of people help out with no pay, just volunteering their time for the love of helping animals in
There is simply not enough money circulating to feed, shelter, and provide for the hundreds of animals that call the Society home. Luckily fundraisers such as spaghetti dinners, basket raffles, and benefit walks are held
